Breeders’ Cup, 2012
Nov 1st 2012 09:30 pm |
Hard to believe it’s time for another Breeders’ Cup. While this year’s edition lacks the compelling story lines from recent years, it will still be a great two days of racing at Santa Anita Park. I had the opportunity to write previews for the Classic and Ladies’ Classic for CBS Local (links below). I wasn’t too creative in picking the winner for either race, the stars seem aligned for Game on Dude in the Classic and Royal Delta appears poised to repeat in the Ladies’ Classic. You can read my analysis and my long shot plays to potentially juice the exotic payoffs here:
A Solid Field Against ‘The Dude’ in the 2012 Breeders’ Cup Classic
A ‘Royal’ Field Lined Up for the Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic
I haven’t had a chance to look too deeply at any of the other races. Who do you like?
Best of luck if you are betting this weekend! Thanks for reading…

Wise Dan in the Mile, Executiveprivilege in the Juvie Fillies. My heart wants Royal Delta to win but it’ll be a tough win for her. The Distaff field is the best it’s been in a long, long time.

I liked “Argle Bargle” (picking random numbers) because we’re in (a ridiculous) gypsy mode after hurricane. It was a profitable venture! And we left before the pumpkin turned into chalk.
Meadowlands practically deserted Friday Nov. 2nd. No gas. We’ll be there tomorrow, still have a half-tank left. Gung ho, I think.
